Abstract
The establishment of Yili Nine towns in the Qianlong period had been reflected in governance policies of border defense and tunken.From the geographical point of view,the establishment of Yili Nine towns constituted a stable and efficient core zone and marginal zone which affected by the core area.Yili Nine towns played the main functions of political control and military defense,which droved its own development.Yili Nine towns had played an irreplaceable role in Xinjiang’s social stability and regional development.Yili Nine towns were changed into the marginal zone and lost the function of the core area because of northwest frontier territory to be lost in the northwest modern society,so Dihua(Urumchi) replaced of Yili to become the core zone of Xinjiang’s.
