Abstract

Objective To observe the therapeutic effect of itraconazole and ketoconazole on patients with malassezia folliculitis. Methods 110 patients with malassezia folliculitis were randomly divided into treatment group consisted of 55 cases treated with itraconazole plus external washing with Ketoconazole lotion, and control group consisted of 55 cases only treated with external washing using Ketoconazole lotion. The results were observed two weeks after treatment. Results The total effective rates in the treatment and control groups were 94.40% and 58.10%, respectively. Also significant differences were observed in the two groups (x 2=33.50,P0.001). Conclusion The therapeutic effect of orally used itraconazole plus external washing with Ketoconazole lotion on patients with malassezia folliculitis is satisfactory and safe with mild adverse effect.
