Abstract
With Wuxi as an example,this paper elaborates the technical framework and study scope of comprehensive urban design and argues to identify the core value of urban form by retrospect to its succession and quantification of its features.It presents to establish digital model platform based on block height and openness indicators,to develop the skeleton structure of urban space through the overall control of spatial form and six special plans,to implement the plan by making urban design guideline and integrating the urban design of key plot into the administrative procedure.In this way the approaches and methods of comprehensive urban design are established,which could be further expanded and adjusted to adapt to the needs of different kinds of cities.
