Abstract
Urban Design Guidelines is the most valuable core content in the urban design theory.To deepen the recognition of urban design guidelines is very important to the urban design and construction.This paper has enhanced the urban design guidelines through the summarization of the development on the Urban Design Guidelines both at home and abroad.It also thoroughly explores the value principle and fundamental function of the Urban Design Guidelines.It provides the scientific foundation for the realistic urban design guidelines and the actual usages.
