On the Diversion of Philosophy of Education

Philosophy of education is a way of thinking in pondering on and understanding educational phenomena and activities. It can’t base its theories on any existing educational facts or knowledge and has the premisecriticism as its important feature. Traditional philosophy of education understands education by the way of thinkingbelonging to the substantial ontology, and thus the historical development of education has been interpreted as aimplementation process of some sort of preexistence essence. Besides, it also tries to establish an all-embracing logicsystem, resulting in people’s oblivion of their actual life and the reduction of wisdom of educational philosophy. Today,philosophy of education should return back to the life world and wake up education out of the oblivion of life world.
