Abstract
[Objective]To investigate and compare the effects of Replenishing Yin and Regulating Stomach therapy and Replenishing Qi to invigorate spleen therapy on gastric motility and interstitial cells of Cajal(ICC) in diabetic gastroparesis(DGP) rats.[Methods]Sprague-Dawley(SD) rats were divided randomly into control group, model group,Replenishing Yin and Regulating Stomach group, and Replenishing Qi to invigorate spleen group.Diabetes were induced by intravenous injection of STZ.Gastric lavage method was used to administer the traditional Chinese medicine decoction of Replenishing Yin prescription and Reinforcing Qi prescription in corresponding amount respectively.Equal amount of normal saline was intravenously injected in the normal group and model group.Gastric emptying rate was determined by Phenol red gavage experiment. The quantity of ICC in the gastric antrum was determined by immunohistochemistry.[Results]Compared with normal group, the gastric emptying rate, gastric blood flow and the quantity of ICC were significantly lower in model group(P0.05).The gastric emptying rate, gastric blood flow and the quantity of ICC in Replenishing Yin and Reinforcing Qi groups were significantly higher than that in the model group. The above in Replenishing Yin group were slightiy higher than that in Reinforcing Qi group, but there was no statistical difference between the two groups.[Conclusion]Both Replenishing Yin and Regulating Stomach formula and Replenishing Qi to invigorate spleen formula can improve gastric pacing function and gastric motility by regulating the quantity of ICC in DGP rats.Replenishing Yin and Regulating Stomach prescription is superior to Replenishing Qi to invigorate spleen.
