Abstract

In this paper, the modal characteristics of a three-wheel motorcycle frame are analyzed by the Finite Element Method(FEM) and the Experimental Modal Analysis(EMA) respectively. The comparison between the two methods proves that the finite modal is correct. Then, the frame's former ten natural frequencies and corresponding mode shapes are obtained,so that the resonance and noise is avoided during the design of the motorcycle frame, which strengthens the stability, comfortableness and security of the motorcycle and supplies foundation in theory to prove design of the frame.
