Clinical analysis of traditional Chinese medicine in adjuvant treatment of carotid atherosclerosis

Abstract

Objective To analyse the effect of traditional Chinese medicine in adjuvant treatment of carotid atherosclerosis .Methods 80 cases patients with carotid atherosclerosis were randomly divided into treatment group and control group,each of 40 cases,treatment group were treated with traditional Chinese Medicine add and subtract combined with simvastatin,and control group were treated with simvastatin only.The level of total cholesterol(TC),triacylglycerol(TG),low density lipoprotein cholesterin(LDL-C) and intima-media thickness (IMT) were observed after treating for 0.5 years.Results After treatment,TC,TG,LDL-C and IMT of 2 groups were lower than before treatment,and treatment group were lower than control group,the difference were statistically significant(P0.05).Conclusion The effect of traditional Chinese Medicine in adjuvant treatment of carotid atherosclerosis is significant,has no obvious adverse reaction,and worthy of clinical application.
