Abstract
Objective To investigate the inhibitory effects of Maxingshigan dectoctin(MXSGD) on influenza virus A and its' protective effects on host’s cells in vitro. Methods The chicken embryo culture test and the hemagglutination reaction were used to determine the inhibitory effects of MXSGD on influenza virus A proliferation. The cell culture technique and MTT test were used to determine the effects of MXSGD on MDCK cells activities infected by influenza virus A. Results The inhibitory multiple of MXSGD on the hemagglutination titer of influenza virus A was above 4 at the concentration of 250 mg/ml or 125 mg/ml no matter it was given before or after influenza virus A infection. The treatment index (TI) on MDCK cell infected by influenza virus A was 2.78 and 1.71 in the above ways respectively. Conclusion MXSGD shows strong inhibitory effects on influenza virus A by inhibiting the proliferation of influenza virus A and protecting the cells infected by influenza virus A.
