Abstract
The effect of rare earth element cerium on electroless Co Ni P alloy plating process was studied. The influence of the plating bath composition on the plating speed was analyzed, the surface quality of the alloy coating and adhesion of the coating to substrate were synthetically studied on the base of experiment using perpendicular method. The results showed that rare earth element cerium doped in plating bath could remarkably improve the stability of plating bath, raise the speed of plating and make the plated surface better. The optimum plating bath composition and operating conditions of such technology were presented.
