The Criticism of Yang Shi on Wang Anshi’s New Learning

As an important disciple of Cheng brothers,Yang Shi not only utilized his political status to exclude Wang Anshi and his New Administration,claimed to dismiss Wang Anshi’s oblation from Confucian temple,but also criticized Wang Anshi’s New Learning in theory,such as ignorance of Heaven way,ignorance of human nature,indulge in Buddhism and Daoism and think much of benefit.From these,Yang Shi upgraded Luo Xue’s social status and academic influence.The criticism of Yang Shi on Wang Anshi’s New Learning not only embodied the controversy between different schools in the Song Dynasty,but also laid out the discrepancy on thinking pattern and value choice of Luo Xue and New Learning.
