Abstract

Objective To study the chemical constituents of rhizoma of Coptis chinensis.Methods The compounds from the n-butanol extracts were isolated by silica gel column,Sephadex LH-20 column chromatography and HPLC techniques.And these compounds were identified by the physico-chemical properties and spectroscopic methods.Results Eleven compounds were isolated from the n-butanol extract of C.chinensis,whose structures were determined as noroxyhydrastineine(1),6,7-dimethoxy-3,4-dihydro-2H-isoquinolin-1-one(2),8-oxocoptisine(3),berberine(4),oxyberberine(5),protocatechuic acid methyl ester(6),n-butyl3,4-dihydroxyphenyllactate(7),E-3,4-dimethoxycinnamic acid(8),n-butyl ferulate(9),5-O-feruloylquinic acid butyl ester(10),4-O-feruloylquinic acid butyl ester(11).Conclusions Compounds 711 are isolated from C.chinensis for the first time.
