Abstract

[Objective] The reference for the castor bean sowing and its seedling-supplying was provided.[Method] The effect of the different temperatures in seed-soaking and its germination on castor bean germination percentage,germination rate and germination index was studied through the experimental design of 4 seed-soaking temperatures(15,25,35 and 45℃) and 5 germination temperatures(15,20,25,30 and 35 ℃).[Results] The result indicated that the castor bean germination percentage was 21%,43%,95%,91% and 36%;germination rate,8%,26%,91%,88% and 31% and germination index,1.31,2.48,5.35,5.43 and 2.37,respectively while the temperature for seed germination was 15,20,25,30 and 35 ℃.There was greatly significant efficiency of germination temperature on germination percentage,germination rate and germination index.The effect of seed-soaking temperature on them was variable.And the interaction between seed-soaking temperature and germination temperature significantly affected them.[Conclusion] The interaction effect between castor bean seed-soaking temperature and germination temperature on germination percentage,germination rate and germination index was significant and the best efficiency on them was produced the combination of seed-soaking temperature(25 ℃) and germination temperature(35 ℃).
