Abstract
Objectives To study characteristic of serum uric acid in patients with coronary heart disease(CHD),and to approach the value of measuring serum concentration of uric acid in CHD prevention. Methods Totally 430 patients with suspected CHD in Guangdong General Hospital from March 2010 to February 2011 were included in this study.Firstly, according to the results of the coronary artery angiography(CAG),the patients were divided into two groups:316 patients in CHD group and 114 patients in control group.Serum concentrations of the uric acid were measured and compared between the 2 groups.Secondly, according to diagnostic criteria of hyperuricemia from World Health Organization, the patients were divided into high serum concentration of uric acid group and non-high serum concentration of uric acid group.Case rates of CHD between the 2 groups were compared.Thirdly, according to serum concentration of uric acid, all patients were divided into 4 different serum concentration of uric acid groups, and cases rate among the 4 group were compared. Results Serum concentration of uric acid in CHD group were siginificantly higher than that in control group [(374.42±98.54) μmol·L-1 vs.(374.42±98.54)μmol·L-1,P0.05].Case rate of high serum concentration of uric acid group was higher than that of non-high serum concentration uric acid, but there was no statistical significance(P=0.217).The higher the serum concentration of uric acid the group was,the higher case rate of the group was.Case rates of the 3 high serum concentration of uric acid groups were siginificantly higher than that of the lowest serum concentration of uric acid group(P=0.001).Conclusions Serum concentration of uric acid may be one of the risk factor of CHD.The higher serum concentration of uric acid the patient is,the more likely he will suffer from CHD.Measuring serum concentration of uric acid has important meaning for CHD prevention.
