Abstract
Objective:To invesgatethe the significance of the expression of CD44s and CD44v6 in colorectal adenocarcinomas. Methods:To detect the CD44s and CD44v6 proteins in 85 cases of colorectal adenocarcinomas,28 cases of colorectal adenonoma with dysplasia, and 36 cases peripheral normal mucosa of cancer by SP (streptavidinHRP) immunohistochemical method.Result:The postive expression rate of CD44s and CD44v6 was 67.1% and 92.9% in cancer foci, respectively, and 66.7% and 88.9% in adenoma withdysplasia, respectively. It was significant comparing with the postive rate of the normol mucosa(P0.01).As well as,the over-expression of CD44v6 was related with Duke′s stage of colorectal adenocarcinoma(P0.01).Furthermore,the expression of CD44v6 was higher in those patients with less 5 years survival(P0.05) But both the CD44s and CD44v6 were not related with the differentiation, lymph node and distand metastasis of colorectal adenocarcinoma. Conclusion:The expression of CD44s and CD44v6 proteins has a significance in early diagnosis of colorectal adenocarcinoma, especially CD44v6 and the detecting of CD44v6 protein is a possibal prognostic factor of colorectal adenocarcinoma.
