Abstract
Objective To investigate the relationship between CD44V6expression and tumorigenesis, progression and metastasis in colorectal carcinomas. Methods CD44V6 protein was detected by SP immunohistochemical method in 78 cases of colorectal adenocarcinomas,14 cases of carcinomas in adenomas,57 cases of adenomas,30 cases of polyps and 24 cases of normal mucosa. Results CD44V6 positive expression of adenomas, carcinomas in adenomas and adenocarcinomas was 78.95%,100.00% and 56.41%,respectively,significantly higher than that of polyps and normal mucosa(14.81%),but had no significant correlation with lymph nodes metastasis,Dukes stage and histological grade of colorectal adenocarcinomas. Conclusion CD44V6 expression is correlated with tumorigenesis. It is a useful marker in diagnosis for colorectal precancerous disease and early cancers.
