Abstract

Objective:To determine the relevance of angiotensinogen(AGT) and apolipoprotein E(ApoE) gene polymorphism to coronary heart disease(CHD).Methods:AGT and ApoE genotypes of 129 cases of CHD and 90 controls were detected by PCR-RFLP respectively. Results:The frequencies of e 3/4 genotypes and e 4 alleles in CHD were significantly higher than controls, frequencies of e 3/3 and e 3 were lower. There were no differences in AGT genotypes and alleles frequencies between two groups,no differences in various AGT genotypes when carrying e 4 allele between two groups either. Conclusion:e 4 allele is a genetic marker of CHD. AGT gene has no relation with CHD,no cooperation effect with ApoE gene on CHD either.
