Abstract
It is not reported that the synthesis of polyacrylate sodium by reverse latex with acryloyl Span-60 as emulsifying agent. The effect of emulsifying agent and reaction temperature on the stability of the polymeric system was investigated. The effect of (NH 4) 2S 2O 8-DMAEMA-NaHSO 3 initiator and allyl alcohol on the performance of the products was also investigated. It is shown that the optimal experimental conditions are reaction temperature, 40℃; emulsifying agent use level, 3%; initiator concentration, 0.06%, 0.04%, 0.02%; allyl alcohol use level, 0.08%, respectively. The molecular weight of the synthesized product at the optimal experimental conditions is greater than 3×10 7. The solubility of the product is better than that synthesized by conventional solution polymerization.
