Abstract
Synthesized quick dissolving high molecular weight polyacrylate sodium by reverse microlatex with polyisobutylene succimide and sodium dodecyl sulfate as emulsifying agent. The effect of emulsifying agent and pH on the stability of the polymeric system was investigated. The effect of (NH_4)_2S_2O_8-DMAEMA-NaHSO_3 initiator and concentration of monomer and allyl alcohol on the performance of the products was also investigated. It is shown that the optimal experimental conditions are pH, 10; emulsifying agent use level, 5%(oil system); initiator concentration, 0.06%, 0.04%, 0.02%(monomer weight);allyl alcohol concentration,0.08%(monomer weight); monomer concentration, 40%(water system), respectively. The molecular weight of the synthesized product at the optimal experimental conditions is greater than 2×10~7. The solubility of the product is better than that synthesized by reverse suspension and solution polymerization.
