Expression of CD44v3 in human oral squamous cell carcinoma

Abstract

Objective:To investigate the expression of CD44v3 in human oral squamous cell carcinoma(OSCC)and the relationship between their expressions and the clinical pathological factors.Methods: Immunohistochemical staining was used to detect the expression of CD44v3 of 42 OSCC cases and 13 metastatic lymph nodes.Results: In 13 cases with lymph nodes metastasis,the expression level of CD44v3 was much higher in the primary tumor than that in the metastatic site,(P0.05).In 42 cases of primary tumor,the expression of CD44v3,between OSCC with metastastic lymph node and those without was same.The CD44v3 expression in 42 cases of OSCC was not related with age,gender and degree of tumor differentiation(P0.05).Conclusion: The expression of CD44v3 may be related to metastasis of OSCC.
