Reasons for Environmental Deterioration in Huaihe River Valley during Yuan,Ming and Qing Dynasties

Abstract

Huaihe River Valley was a very flourishing area of economy and culture in the history of China before Nan-Song Dynasties.But it gradually declined after South Song Dynasty.One indicator is that social and physical environment deteriorated in this area.The reasons for it were controversial.The paper analyzed the reasons why Huaihe River Valley can be gradually declined,and tried to find causality of some main reasons.
