Abstract
Objective:To discuss the effects of indapamide on the treatment isolated systolic hypertension (ISH) in elderly patients. Methods:One hundred and two patients ISH of elderly were recuited and divided into group indapamide (n=52,indapamide 1.25 ~ 2.5 mg/d)and group felodipine(n=50,felopdipine 5~15 mg/d).Siting blood pressure was measured by the every 1~2 weeks.Fasting blood glucose, blood lipid, blood creatinine, uric acid, blood potassium, blood natrium and blood chlorine, were examined before and after 2 months treatment. Results:Comparing with before treatment, the blood pressure in both groups decreased significanthy, but not difference between 2 groups. The levels of blood glucose, blood lipids, creatinine and potassium didn't change after treatment. Conclusion:Indapamid is a safer drug for elderty patients with systolic hypertension.
