Abstract

Trade unions' strategy in the face of SA8000 is decided by SA8000's contents and trade unions' two protection principles.If SA8000's guiding principle transforms a standard of import and export trade, voluntary standard will become a compulsory one and a barrier.The starting point that the Chinese trade unions copy with SA8000 should include to keep the advantage of labor force price, safeguard more employment opportunities and improve labor conditions, and keep a balance between protection of laborers' rights and interests and China's economic development.
