Abstract

The Tang and Song dynasties are separately referred as the age of reunification and refom of Confucian Classics studies by Pi Xirui.Studies of Confucian Classics in the Tang dynasty had some reaction to the reunification.Liu Zhiji and Yuan Dan had criticised tradional studies of Confucian Classics at the early age of the Tang dynasty,but the new school of Confucian Classics in the mid Tang Dynasty attract us most.There were many interactions between the new school of Confucian Classics and the ancient Chinese prose movement.The ancient Chinese prose movement criticised tradional studies of Confucian Classics,claimed to obtain the gists of Confucian Classics immediately,supported scholars to reinterpret Confucian Classics,some ones practiced this by themselves.The reaction to the tradional studies of Confucian Classics developed to boubting Confucian Classics.This underground stream of the change of Confucian Classics became very popular in the Song dynasty lastly.
