Observation of Hushen decoction combined with western medicine on primary nephrotic syndrome

Objective To observe the effect of Hushen decoction combined with western medicine on primary nephrotic syndrome.Methods 120 patients with primary nephrotic syndrome were randomly divided into two groups. 60 cases in control group were treated by routine therapy (including Cyclophosphamide, Dipyridamole, Vitamin E, etc). The other 60 cases in treatment group were treated by Hushen decoction combined with routine therapy. After a course, 24 h urine protein and Alb were observed. Results The total effective rate in treatment group (80.5%) was higher than that in control group (56.7%, P0.05). 24 h urine protein and Alb were obviously improved after treatment in two groups (P0.05, P0.01).Conclusion Hushen decoction combined with western medicine has definite effect on primary nephrotic syndrome.
