Curative observations of Qidi Bushen decoction on nephrotic syndrome

Abstract

Objective To evaluate the curative effect of Qidi Bushen decoction for nephrotic syndrome.Methods 80 hospitalized patients with nephrotic syndrome were randomly divided into two groups.The patients in treatment group(n=40) were treated by Qidi Bushen decoction combined with prednisone,and the control group was given prednisone.The therapeutic course was three months in two groups.Serum albumin,BUN,Cr and 24 h urine protein were determined before and after treatment.Results The total effective rate in treatment group(75.0%) was higher than that in control group(42.5%,P0.01).There were significant differences between two groups on Cr,BUN and 24 h urine protein after treatment(P0.05).Conclusion Qidi Bushen decoction has definite effect on nephrotic syndrome.
