A New Method to Correct the Narrow Nostril of Secondary Cleft Lip Nasal Deformity

Abstract

0bjective To search a new effective method to correct the narrow nostril of the secondary cleft lip nasal deformity.Methods The spilth tissue asymmetry to the another side on the cleft side lip is formed as a flap, which is used to enlarge nostril size, reconstruct the nostril base and readjust nasal shape. The cleft side alar cartilage lateral foot is disassociated,replaced and fixed into the norm al place. Results 8 patients were received this operation, their nasal alar and nostril on the two sides are symmetry,and the result is good. Conclusion The cleft side lip flap and replacement of the lower lateral cartilage is effective to correct the narrow nostril of secondary cleft lip nasal deformity.
