Abstract

Objective To search a new method to correct the narrow nostril in secondary deformity of unilateral cleft lip.Methods Choose 12 patients repaired with this method from January,2008 to november,2011.By harvesting a subnasale flap from the the unaffected side of the nostril and moving to the narrowing of the nostril cavity to amplfy the affected side of the nostril,simultaneously to correct the concomitant columella base deviation.Results All the patients who received this operation have a good result,the outline of the nose is improved,nostrils on the two sides are symmetry,the deviated columella base is straightened.Conclusion Subnasale flap from the the unaffected side of the nostril is effective to correct the narrow nostril in secondary deformity of unilateral cleft lip.
