Study of Electroless Nickel Plating Technology on the Surface of PET Polyester Material

Abstract

The operating methods and conditions of electroless nickel plating on surface of polyester material were studied.The influence of several factors on nickel-plating on the surface of the polyester material was discussed.Then the combining strength between chemical coating and polyester material was tested,and the best process and optimum conditons were finally determined.The results showed that the optimum conditions were as follows:pH = 5.5;nickel plating temperature,45℃;and reaction time,10~20 min.Under the above conditions,good nickel-plated coating on surface of polyester material after pretreatment,sensitization and activation was gained.
