Effect of Shutangluo prescription on the treatment of diabetic peripheral neuropathy

Abstract

Objective To investigate the effects of Shutangluo prescription on diabetic peripheral neuropathy(DPN).Methods 60 patients with DPN were randomly divided into two groups.Besides the same measures of diet regulation,exercise,education,hypoglycemic and symptomatic treatment applied,Methycobal was administered to patients in the control group,and Shutangluo were given to patients in the treatment group.The therapeutic course was 3 months in two groups.The changes of symptoms and signs,sciatic never conduction velocity(NCV)were observed before and after treatment.Results The total effective rate in treatment group was higher than that in control group(P0.05).Improvement of sciatic NCV in treatment group was superior to that in control group after treatment(P0.05).Conclusion Shutangluo prescription is more effective than Methycobal on the treatment of diabetic peripheral neuropathy.
