Abstract

Objective:To investigate the effectiveness and safety of edaravone for acute cerebral infarction. Methods:A randomized controlled study was carried out in treatmentof 90 patients with ACI enrolled within 24 hours of onset, they were randomLy allocated into treatment group(n=45)and control group(n=45). The neurologicaldeficits and activities ofdaily living(ADL)of patients in both groups were assessed respectively before and after the treatment. Results:The efficacy rates in treat-mentgroup and control groupwere 82.1% and 64.5% respectively. There was a significant difference scores between treatment group and control group(P0.05).There was no distinct adverse reaction seen in these two groups. Conclusion:Edaravone can reduce neurological deficit of acute cerebral infarction. Its clinical application is effective, safe and convenient.
