Abstract

The appropriate partition walls and partition dams are used to control the fluid flow in the 2-strand billet tundish.And their positions are optimized by means of water modeling and orthogonal tests.After optimization,the reactive time for tracer agent increases from 17 s to 48 s,and the average residence time increases from 240 s to 427 s.Furthermore,the dead volume decreases from 48.0%to 7.5%.
