Abstract

A hydraulic model trial in room temperature was built based on 3-stand T type tundish in one Steelmaking plant.It was used to study effect of optimum flow field in the tundish by means of contrasted different programs which compounded appropriate partition wall and the size of tundish hole.The result shows the program 4 is the best program.The average residence time in the modified tundish reached to 546~680 s,the dead volume is 21%~35.2%.Different response time of near nozzles was no more than 5seconds.
