Abstract

Using the DES as mutagenic agent to treatment SC21(Streptomyces natalensis), using streptomycin sulfate plat screening resist strains, a high-Natamycin mutant strain SC216 was obtained. At the same fermentation conditions, the yield of Natamycin was 1.262g/L and increased about 1.31 times. The production of Natamycin ranged around 1.2g/L which proved that the genetic quality of SC216 was stable after incubated for five subsequent generations.
