Abstract

A network communication system based on the processor Powerpc405 within FPGA Virtex 4 is presented for the network communication application of embedded system; Also, a scheme for designing the hardware system is outlined. A powerful yet robust network module is developed on SOPC by transplanting Linux. In addition, the overall procedure including building cross tool, transplanting U-Boot, transplanting open-source Linux, and constructing Busybox root file system is described in detail. Finally, the performance of the network is validated.
