Abstract
Objective:To observe the expression of intercellular adhesion molecule-1(ICAM-1) in the renal tissue in doxorubicin induced nephropathy rats and investigate the role of ICAM-1 in proteinuria in minimal change nephrotic syndrome(MCNS).Methods:Eighty five male Wistar rats were randomly divided into normal group(n=40) and nephropathy group(n=45).The MCNS model of the nephropathy group was established by a single tail vein injection of doxorubicin 5mg/kg.The normal group was given 5mg/kg saline injection. At the end of the 7,14,28 and 42 days, all rats 24h urine protein, serum albumin, serum cholesterol, triglycerides, serum creatinine and serum urea nitrogen levels were detected and at the same time the ICAM-1 expression in renal tissue was detected by immunohistochemical staining.Results:①The urinary protein excretion of the nephritic rats gradually was increased, and compared with the normal group in different periods, there were significant differences(P0.01);②The ICAM-1 expression in the renal tissue in the nephropathy group was higher than that in normal group, with a significant difference(P0.01);③In the nephropathy group, the ICAM-1 expression was positively correlated to the 24 h urinary protein excretion(r=0.919,P0.01).Conclusion:The ICAM-1 expression is increased significantly in the renal tissue in MCNS,and its abnormal expression is closely related to the occurrence of proteinuria.
