Abstract
The curcumin liposomes were prepared by ethanol injection method. The in vitro transdermal penetration of the prepared liposomes was determined with Franz diffusion cell. The cumulative amount of permeation and retention amount of drug in skin of curcumin liposomes and its solution(containing 0.5%Tween-80) were compared through excised mouse skin. The results showed that the permeation amount at 12 h and residual amount of liposomes were 1.11 and 2.05 times higher than those of curcumin solution. It indicated that the liposomes could significantly enhance the permeation and retention amount of curcumin.
