Abstract

Based on the spatial curve tower of a cable-stayed bridge with a single tower, Midas/Civil software is used to establish a spatial truss model for the overall analysis to determine the most unfavorable load case, the related loading and displacement conditions of steel tower column,up and down bifurcation and cable-pylon anchorage zones. With the commonly used finite element analysis software ANSYS,a three-dimensinal solid model of steel tower column is bulit, then the performance of steel plates of steel tower column and cable-pylon anchorage zones can be obtained. The calculation results show that the deformation of steel tower column is small, stress levels of steel plates of steel tower column,up and down bifurcation and cable-pylon anchorage zones can meet standard requirements. It also indicates that the design of two-way forked spatial curve tower is more reasonable.
