Abstract
Objective To understand the overweight/obesity status and lifestyle among civil servants in Beijing.Methods All of the civil servants of 49 government agencies which located in Beijing were investigated.Results The prevalence rates of overweight and obesity of the participants were 37.3% and 9.1%.The rates of smoking among overweight and obesity civil servants were 55.3%,and 66.8% for males,5.2% for females.The persons which were 51-60 years old had higher smoking rate than any other age steps.9.6% of overweight and obesity civil servants almost drank every day,and older were senior than younger.On the condition of physical exercising,only 23.0% of overweight and obesity investigators exercise regularly,and the rates of the male and the older were better than those of the female and the younger.42.2% of them were sitting more than 6 hours every day,and the females and the older were sitting more time.The average sleeping time was 6.8 hours per day.Uncomfortable pressure was existed among 25.2% of overweight and obesity investigators,and the rate of the younger were senior than that of older.Multi-logistic regression showed that smoking,drinking,highly oil contained diet were risk factors of overweight and obesity,and active physical exercise and highly vegetable contained diet were protective factors of overweight and obesity.Conclusion The prevalence of overweight and obesity is high among civil servants in Beijing.There are bad habits of behaviors and diets among them.Comprehensive measures should be taken to deal with overweight and obesity.
