Abstract
Objective:To evaluate the effect and safety of L-ornithine-L-aspartate on Subclinical Hepatic Encephalopathy. Methods:In this randomized controlled clinical study,39 patients with Subclinical Hepatic Encephalopathy were randomized into two groups,i.e.21 patients received L-ornithine-L-aspartate at the dose of 10g per day,and the another 18 patients received hypoxanthosine, vitamin. The treatment lasted 3 days. The effectiveness and side effects of the drugs were evaluated by the change of blood amonia,number-conjunction time(NCT),total bilirubin(TB),and alanine aminotransferase(ALT).Results:There was more significant decrease of blood amonia and shorter time of NCT in treatment group than that in control(P0.05).There was no significant difference in TB and ALT between two groups.Conclusions:L-ornithine-L-aspartate may used to cure subclinical hepatic encephalopathy effectively and safely.
