Abstract
A sensitive colour reaction of Ni with chromazurol S, quinoline and CTMAB has been studied in the pH range of 10-11. The maxium absorption of the complex is at 640 nm and molar absorptivity is 1.48×105L·mol-1·cm-1·Beer's law is obeyed in the range of 0-10μg/25 ml Ni. The composition ratio of Ni to CAS, quiuoline and CTMAB is 1:2:2:4.Interferences from foreign ions and their elimination have also been studied. The method has been applied to the determination of trace Ni in ores with satisfactory results.
