Abstract

The conditions of colour reaction of manganese with DBSAF in the presence of CTMAB were studied. In a pH=10.2 buffer solution, manganese reacts with DBSAF and CTMAB to form a 1∶3 complex with maximum absorption at 545 nm,the molar absorptivity is 1.6×10 5,Beer′s law is obeyed in the range of 0 ̄9.0 μg/25 ml.The method has been applied to determination of trace amounts of manganese in teas sample with satisfactory results.
