Wu Li's Activities in Fine Arts since His Contact with Catholicism and Western Paintings

Wu Li was a literati painter in the early Qing Dynasty.Since his belief in Catholicism and his knowing Western paintings,he neither learned nor imitated nor depreciated the techniques in Western paintings.Instead he just let both Chinese and Western paintings develop in their own ways.However the poems and postscripts in his literati paintings were involved in the Catholic ideas as well as religious doctrines and preaching.
