Abstract
Objective To discuss the application value and efficacy of Prolift pelvic floor reconstruction system in the treatment of pelvic organ prolapse disease. Methods Retrospective analysis was done to explore the clinical data of 119 patients with pelvic organ prolapse from January 2010 to May 2011 in West China Second University Hospital.Among them,47 patients underwent Polift pelvic floor reconstruction(group A);51 underwent Manchester Operation(group B) and 21 underwent vaginal total hysterectomy combined with vaginal repair(group C).The short-term clinical effect of Prolift floor reconstruction and those traditional surgical treatments was compared and analyzed. Results There were no differences among the three groups in terms of operation time, intraoperative blood loss, urinary catheterization days, and hospital stay time(P0.05).One,11,and 4 cases recurrenced in group A,B and C,respectively. The recurrence rate was significantly lower in patients in group A than in those in group B and C(P0.05).Conclusions Prolift pelvic floor reconstruction surgery is safe with no increasing chance of organ damage, lower incidence of postoperative complications and recurrence rate.It is ideal for the treatment of pelvic organ prolapse because its simplified surgical procedures and obvious efficacy.
