Abstract
Objective To investigate the curative effects of pelvic floor reconstruction surgery in the treatment of pelvic organ prolapse(POP).Methods 62 patients with POP admitted and treated in our hospital from January 2009 to July 2011 were selected,of which 32 patients of the observation group received pelvic floor reconstruction surgery and 30 patients of the control group received traditional vaginal surgery. The intraoperative and postoperative indicators and follow-up POP-Q stages of the two groups were compared. Results The operative time, intraoperative blood loss and postoperative hospital stay of the observation group were significantly less than or shorter than those of the control group, with statistically significant differences(P 0.05);The 12-month cure rate of the observation group was 90.9%(20/22),which was significantly higher than the 63.2%(12/19) of the control group, with statistically significant difference(P 0.05).Conclusion The application of Prolift patch system in pelvic floor reconstruction can improve the pelvic floor function and reduce the postoperative recurrence rate while maintaining the uterus.
