Abstract

Multidrug resistance(MDR) play a critical role in the resistance of tumors to multiple anticancer agents.MDR mainly results from overexpression of P-glycoprotein (Pgp),multidrug resistance-associated protein (MRP),lung resistance protein (LRP) and breast cancer resistance protein.MRPs include MRP1-MRP9.The multidrug resistance protein 2 (MRP2) is an ATP binding cassette transporter .Gene characteristic of MRP2 and its role in cancer and chemotherapy is reviewed.
