Therapeutic Effect of Semiconductor Percutaneous Laser Disc Decompression Combined with Spine-Balancing Manipulations for Lumbar Intervertebral Disc Prolapse

Abstract

Objective To observe the therapeutic effect of semiconductor percutaneous laser disc decompression(PLDD) combined with spine-balancing manipulations for lumbar intervertebral disc prolapse.Methods One hundred and thirty-six patients with lumbar intervertebral disc prolapse were randomized into 3 groups.Group A(N=62) was given PLDD combined with spine-balancing manipulations,group B(N=43) was given PLDD,and group C(N=31) was given spine-balancing manipulations.A follow-up covered 6~12 months.The therapeutic effect was evaluated according to the results of follow-up.Results Subjecting to the MacNab therapeutic criteria,one month after operation the excellent rate was 88.7% in group A,62.7% in group B,and 64.5% in group C.The excellent rate was 93.6%in group A,72.1% in group B,and 70.9% in group C 3~6 months after operation.The excellent rate in group A differed from that in groups B and C(P0.05).Conclusion Semiconductor percutaneous laser disc decompression(PLDD) combined with spine-balancing manipulations exerts certain effect for the treatment of lumbar intervertebral disc prolapse,and can promote the recovery of postoperative patients.
