【Objective】To evaluate the clinical value of percutaneous laser treatment of lumbar intervertebral disc protrusion.【Methods】Percutaneous laser disc decompression(PLDD)was performed in 72 cases with 79 lesions of lumbar intervertebral disc protrusion with semiconductor laser.A following up for 3 months to(1.5) years was conducted.【Results】The total efficiency rate was 76.4%(55/72).NO serious complication was found.【Conclusion】PLDD is a simple,effective,and safe interventional method for the treatment of lumbar intervertebral disc herniation.
