Abstract
Objective To investigate the effectiveness and reliability of different dose in the postoperative patient-controlled intravenous analgesia (PCIA) of half inguinal hernia repair in children. Methods A total of 90 children underwent half inguinal hernia repair operation under general anesthesia were randomly divided into group A、B、C(n=30 each).Dezocine of different dose (0.6 mg·kg-1 in group A,0.8 mg·kg-1 in group B,1.0 mg·kg-1 in group C) and ondansetron hydrochloride (01 mg·kg-1) plus normal saline respectively were made 100 ml solution in three groups. The analgesia pump was switched on for self-controlled analgesia after waking up from anesthesia. The visual analogue scale (VAS) were used to evaluate the analgesic effect at 2,4,8,12,24 and 48 h after enabling analgesic pump, and the adverse effects associated with PCIA were recorded during PCIA. Results VAS scores showed that the satisfactory pain relief was attained in group A,but the analgesic effect was not as good as group B and C (all P005),while there was no significant difference in group B and C (P005).The incidence of lethargy was slightly lower in group A and B. Conclusions PCIA with dezocine has a good analgesic effect and a low side effect. The dose of 0.8 mg·kg-1 dezocine is suitable dosage in PCIA for children.
