Therapeutic effects of edaravone combined batroxobin on aged patients with acute cerebral infarction

Objective:To investigate the therapeutic effects of edaravone combined batroxobin on aged patients with acute cerebral infarction.Methods:Seventy-three cases aging between 60-79 y with acute cerebral infarction were included.Thirty-eight cases were treated with edaravone plus batroxobin(combined group),and 35 cases were treated with batroxobin alone(control group).Batroxobin was used four times with 5 IU every other day.Before and 14 days after treatment,assessment of ESS and ADL was performed and concentration of plasma FIB was examined.Results:There were no significant differences of ESS and ADL scales between these two groups.Fourteen days after treatment,however,the ESS and ADL scales in combined group were superior to those of the control group with significant difference(P0.01).There was no significant difference in plasma FIB concentration.No obvious adverse effect was observed in these two groups.Conclusions:Although both groups were with nice therapeutic safety,the clinical effect of edaravone combined batroxobin on aged patients with acute cerebral infarction was superior to that of batroxobin alone.
